The Temperance Seven were formed at the Royal College of Art during 1957. The band usually had nine members (one over the eight!) and dressed in the style appropriate to the late 1920s jazz they played. The members shown above are typical of those in its chart topping hey-day. The original group fell apart towards the end of the 1960s, but 'new' still fly the flag today. They are international famous and are quite unique entertainment.
Scoring a number one hit in 1961 with a George Martin produced "You're Driving Me Crazy", shortly followed by a number four hit ,"Pasadena", shortly followed by "Charleston / Black Bottom. For some reason George Martin went off with group of young upstarts from Liverpool called "The Beatles" and the chart hits waned.
However, the bands light shines as bright as ever today with the multi talented 'Temps', performing their irresistible show' to packed houses across the world.
